TETLIT ZHEH (aka Fort McPherson)

Fort McPherson is a traditional Gwich'in Community on the banks of the Peel River, with the Richardson Mountains to the west and 187 km southwest of Inuvik. It is the largest of the four Gwich’in communities and remains an important centre of Gwich’in culture. It was the second Gwich’in Indian band to sign Treaty 11 in 1921.
